One day at a time ..

There are so many people in my life that I know want to lose weight for a variety of reasons. Health. Kids. Grandkids. Appearance. Favorite pants "shrunk" in the dryer.

I know the feeling. You're overweight, uncomfortable, overwhelmed at the overall number of pounds you need to lose. You're hesitant to start something you fear you may fail at. And heck, you love your cheezies too much to give them up.

I'm here to tell you that it is okay to not quit your cheezies cold turkey! Dieting and weight loss can be a long, difficult journey. And giving up everything you've ever loved food-wise is not the way to start - that almost guarantees your failure. Let yourself have those cheezies. Maybe just don't eat the whole bag (are you listening, Mama Lego?!) Have a small bowl. Just remember to treat yourself and enjoy your treat in moderation. Your cheezies won't disappear off the face of the planet if you don't finish them in one sitting. They will be there tomorrow!

Take it one day, one meal at a time. Start small. Cut your dinner portion in half. Have a light salad for lunch instead of a cheeseburger. Have a diet coke instead of a regular. Don't supersize your fast food meal. Order a medium latte instead of an extra-large.

The bottom line is: you can start anywhere and start small. Your weight loss will gradually begin and once you feel more comfortable taking bigger steps, you'll have the confidence to do it since you've already begun the process! And once you begin to see the results, you'll be motivated to keep going!

Did you know that even if you only cut 100 calories a day, that can still result in a weight loss of about ten pounds a year? All you need to do is start small!

I'm here for anyone who needs a weight-loss buddy - as long as you promise to be there for me too!
